BHM Partner Mr. Matin Asgar participated at the conference on “Dispute Resolution in CIS-Related Business Transactions” (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine) on 28 February 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany. The conference organized by the German-Russian Lawyers’ Association (DRJV) and DIS40 and hosted by the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The conference comprised of five panels on country reports about recent developments on arbitration as well as country reports on interaction with state courts, interim measures, recognition and enforcement of court decisions and arbitral awards, the western European and arbitration institutions’ perspective to CIS related disputes and investment arbitration. 

The speakers were experienced practitioners regularly acting as counsel or arbitrators in CIS-related disputes as well as representatives of leading arbitration institutions.

Along with actively participating at the conference, Mr. Asgar held meetings with representatives of leading arbitration institutions, arbitrators and counsels discussing the state of ADR methods and opportunities for cooperation in the promotion of arbitration in Azerbaijan.
