Chingiz Asgarov, agent of Azerbaijan Republic at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) stated that correspondence has been held between Azerbaijan and the ECHR on 8 cases, that concern violations of Article 6 of the European Human Rights Convention (right to fair trial) and Article 1 of the 1^st protocol (right to property). The cases concerning violation of property rights are about the settlement of IDPs at other citizens’ houses.

Mr. Asgarov stated that this year ECHR has adopted 15 decisions regarding the applications from Azerbaijan. In 9 of them, violations of the Convention rights were found and the government was fined. Other applications were decided to be dismissed.

According to information given by Mr. Asgarov, more than 100 decisions have been adopted by the ECHR regarding Azerbaijan till now. In 60% of them, violations of the Convention rights were found.
