On April 07, 2019, BHM and SIL organized the workshop on patents & trademark for startups of SIL. The talk was delivered by the senior associate of BHM Gumru Mehdiyeva. The workshop was opened by the welcome speech of Jasur Hasanov, the founder of SIL, who informed that the purpose of having workshop is to give legislative support and educational talk series for a newly established business in Azerbaijan Republic.

Gumru outlined a variety of matters on intellectual property, by describing its types, mentioned the role of legislation in the development of intellectual property rights. She broadly talked about copyrights by giving information on the requirements, author’s rights and duration of it. In addition, Gumru explained the difference between the copyright and related right by making examples on them.
