Forbes magazine announced the list of the best countries for business. Forbes relied on research and published reports of the following organizations: the Central Intelligence Agency, Freedom House, Heritage Foundation, Property Rights Alliance, Transparency International, World Bank and World Economic Forum.
Azerbaijan took 73rd place among 141 countries. Russia ranked 105th place, Moldova – 92nd, Armenia – 77th, Georgia – 50th, Kazakhstan – 70th, Estonia – 22nd, Lithuania – 35th, Latvia – 40th.
The list was prepared on 11 different factors: property rights, innovation, taxes, technology, corruption, freedom (personal, trade and monetary), red tape, investor protection and stock market performance.
New Zealand tops the list. Denmark occupied 2nd place. The third place was taken by Hong Kong. The top 10 is distributed between Canada, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Great Britain. The US ranked 12th place in the list.
